Somatic Symbolism: Color, Geometry & the Five Elements
A participatory workshop exploring the relationship between emotion, movement, colour, and symbolic form through the lens of Tantric philosophy.
Participants began with freeform doodles in red ink, allowing gestures and movements to emerge without conscious direction. Through a series of prompts, they explored five elemental states—earth as upheaval, water as trembling, fire as confusion, air as friction, and ether as tantrum—translating embodied experiences into lines, shapes, and colour.
Drawing on classical Tantric symbolism and sacred geometry, participants then introduced elemental forms: the square, triangles, flowing lines, and the dot. These became a visual language through which to examine emotional patterns, opposing forces, and the interplay of structure and spontaneity.
The workshop culminated in explorations of yin and yang, and the movement from linear mark-making to breath-led drawing and full-body expression.
An invitation to discover how the body thinks in images—and how symbolic forms can make the invisible visible
